“I CAN TELL THAT you’re distracted, Mara,” he observes wryly - there isn’t any irritation in his words, nor in his eyes as he opens his eyes & looks over at his daughter. The desert wind scratches his cheeks & the twin suns float just above the horizon; he had planned on staying out here with her long after dark. There are dangers, yes, but he knows that the pair of them will be more than a match for anything. The point of this excursion is to hone her senses - things always look different in the darkness, & one must learn to trust one’s feelings.
“You must remain in the present.” His posture relaxes, though he remains in his spot, sitting cross-legged on the crest of the sand dune. “Let your focus determine your reality.”
