REPO MAN 1984 Sci-fi/Comedy Repo man is a punk rock sci-fi/black comedy starring Emilio Estevez as Otto, White suburban punk Rocker who has had enough of his boring day job as a stocking clerk at a local grocery store. After telling his boss to fuck off, and walking out, he ends up running a crossed Bud, played by Harry Dean Stanton, who cons him into a repossession job with a sob story about his pregnant wife. When they both reach the repossession agency, the agency offers Otto a job working for them, which eventually leads to a cross city chase for a $20,000 payout on a Chevy Malibu which may be linked to extra terrestrial activity. With a soundtrack featuring punk rock Mainstays such as, Black Flag, The Circle Jerks, Iggy Pop, and Suicidal Tendencies, “Repo Man” I had one of my favorite 80s soundtracks as well as being one of Emilio Estevez’s better films. The film touched on suburban punk rock culture, cultish religious zealotry, and fears of nuclear war, all wrapped up in a pretty little dark comedy package.
