today was the finalest of fridays. last coffee date with my one of my nearest and dearest, something we’ve done since freshman year. last friday work shift where i can chitchat with my lovely supervisor who is also my friend and whom i gifted a card to alongside my boss, all the while prepping for our school’s last art market, where the booth i ran was with my lovely friends and i got to see all my other lovely friends, my beloved juniors and sophomores, one of whom gave me a dean winchester keychain he made which was the sweetest thing in the world and i caught up with all my fellow graduating friends, trading theses and talking about all the odd people at the market, making plans to see each other in the next couple of weeks before everything ends, and then in the clean-up period i went around swapping art with all my friends and handing out prints to my underclassmen with a generosity (and side notes i am so ridiculously proud of these kids they’re so sweet and talented and funny and kind i hope they have nothing but the best going on for them next year and beyond) and then as i was leaving to grab a late dinner with my friends we were saying goodbye to our underclassmen and one of them literally burst into tears after a hug and i just realised how much im going to miss everything and everyone and how much these people mean to me, day in and day out. and i went to dinner and we discussed everything that we’d been meaning to, and i felt a little like i had had the best ending to a school year i could’ve. That there’s nothing more and im glad it went this way, purple and art trades and laughing and bad gossip and a lot of sappiness and good food and good weather and a nice walk home. and everywhere you go makes your heart ache, sure, but it’s a nice comforting ache that means that you actually lived it and it actually happened. it means you were there and alive to witness it and participate and what could be better than that?
