She’d bought a large can of root beer and a bag of gummy bears from the convenience store in preparation for her own little movie night. She wasn’t sure what to watch, probably something with a bit of action. It was a lazy day for her, as it so often was, so she decided to take the elevator despite the fact she’d already committed to walking up a flight. Sheridan tapped her foot and watched impatiently for the number above the elevator to reach 2 as it had been stuck on the ground floor for about a minute now. Sure, it would’ve been faster to just go back to the stairs but she was a stubborn girl. Sheridan wanted to take the elevator so God knows she will.
The doors opened, only one other person was inside. Lucky day. It was the little Indian girl that Sheridan had taken a liking to. At least, in a ‘piss you off until you storm out’ kind of way...She still didn’t even know her name. Upon sight of her, Sheridan crossed her arms, feeling the awkward tension grow. Stomping in, she pressed the button for the third floor and looked in the other direction. Even so, she could feel the gaze of the young woman on her.
“Uh, can I help you with somethi-” Sheridan didn’t finish for, just as the elevator began to move upwards, it made a strange and jolted stop. Had it...broken? The light above them flickered. “Fuck. Seriously?!”
