      the pair of them, whom she recognized && assumed to be peter,  go hurdling backward with the combined force of the speed he smashed into her && the propellant of her magic⸺in the mid-air chaos, ground quickly approaching, pietra had managed to grasp hold of the others arm to pull him as close to her chest as she could.   with one thought of it, magic wraps ‘round them in a sort of   𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓿𝓮    barrier just in time for them to make contact with chipped pavement. they hop on the ground once or twice before pietra loses grip, the barrier gone, feeling body skid && scrape along pavement.   grunt of pain is hurt, woman resting on hands && knees for only a moment before standing with hand cradling middle.  blood has stained corner of her mouth, a cut on her forehead:    ❝  i told you to—ugh—i told you to stay away !   not to get involved !  ❞  voice carries over their distance.    ❝  i have to do this !   don’t you understand !?   i have to get my family back. ❞    breath huffed from bruised lungs,   ❝  you leave me no choice, peter.  i’m sorry. ❞    hand outstretches, orange magic snaking up her fingers as the whites of eyes turn pitch black with irises the same orange color.   the magic surrounds him, grabs hold like a unrelenting fist !  pulling peter forward, pietra looks him in the eye:   ❝  i wont tell you again.  𝖘𝖙𝖆𝖞  𝖆𝖜𝖆𝖞   !  ❞   black veins show themselves under eyes && on throat, a voice hisses inside her head:     [   kill him !   do it, kill him.  he’s making you weak.  if you spare him because of your love for him, you’ll never get them back !  ]    pietra closes her eyes, shaking the thoughts out of her head:   ❝  no, i- . . ❞   talking to no one as act is finished.   peter is thrown clear down the street into nearby water. 

        𝐈𝐓’𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐀𝐍 𝐔𝐍𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄  𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄,   but something inside of him was thankful it happened.  he discovered that variants of himself were out there doing what he did, being a hero && helping people⸺they weren’t identical,  but what they wanted to do for people mirrored each other in one way or another.   they had a desire to help,  they all shared the shared, though unfortunate, the loss of people close to them.    peter, the kid, was no different,  but today showed him that he was on the right path like they all had to find at one point or another.   he was just starting out && had so much to do now that he’d, once again,  saved the world with the help of his friends && other spider-men.    it was over now,  time to go back to their own realities,  && apart of peter wished he was able to   𝓼𝓽𝓪𝔂   just so he could see what this peter might become.      ;      (   they’d spent very little time with one another,  but they’d   𝙱𝙾𝙽𝙳𝙴𝙳.   they shared parts of their lives with one another,  they discovered their similarities, && did what they did best⸺together !   )    peter is nearly knocked down when the youngest of them wraps arms ‘round him.  embrace is returned in the same amount of affection, chin rested on the others shoulder:     ❝  you did good, kid, you really did. ❞   praises the oldest,    ❝  we saved the world,  we gave those guys a second chance.  because of you, peter.  ❞   hand rubs against his back as they part,  peter patting the youngest on the shoulder.     ❝  you’re gonna do great at this whole spider-man thing.  you already have.   it won’t be easy,  but remind yourself of why you do it.  ❞    he smiles,  emotion swelling in chest.     ❝  don’t forget us, alright?  your brothers. ❞

❝    i    wouldn’t    be    so    sure    about    that.    ❞
