I got really into the au but then you stopped posted about it and we’re left on cliffhangers 🥲🙏. Take your time but, I really want to see what happens next and how all the questions and mysteries end up coming together in the story ❤️

⌛️ Ooh this is an interesting question for me since I definitely struggle making characters completely from scratch. I think this is influenced by the fact I’m an artist, not a writer. For DG, almost all of the characters I make are very loosely based on a canon LoZ one, although I mostly take inspiration from the design and steal the name. I think the only exception so far is Ruby! Personalities are somewhat inspired by canon appearances, but I’ve actually pulled a lot of the way my characters act from the way my family acts. Of course there are elements of all my characters that are original, but they’re mostly just mash ups of things I like or think will make them interesting.

TLDR: I like taking parts of existing LoZ character designs and then throw the personality of someone I know in real life on that character.

🤔 The thing I love about LoZ is that it’s whimsical! It’s fun, it’s about friendship and family and love and saving the world. I hope I can capture that in DG.

🤢 The most fleshed out major change is the magic system! I defined it more since that was fun for me to do. It’s not that I dislike the canon stuff either, I just like more complex stuff and it works well for the story :)

🕰️ DG is technically placed after Zelda II: Adventure of Link, but it’s not really important to the story of DG itself aside from the fact this is the downfall timeline!

🔺A Link Between Worlds! The story, the gameplay, the art style. This game is pretty much perfect to me. I also really like Link’s Awakening and Minish Cap.

🕹️Top down for sure! Somehow in my head DG is a 3DS game. The only thing is I have genuinely no idea which character you would play as since all three of my main trio go dungeon diving 😅

💡DG was originally supposed to be the story told on the tapestry in BOTW! Then TOTK came out and gave more lore about that, so my AU became very far removed from what I originally planned. I realized the story can be whatever I want it to be, and I didn’t need to restrict myself with the whole 10K story, so I cut most of the BOTW ties and have just been running wild from there!
