sugar and spice.
for @nchaejin.
she offers the waiter a nod of acknowledgement when he brings their dinner, her lips forming just the smallest of smiles. the classical music playing doesnât do much to mask the chatter of the other patrons surrounding them. the alcohol in her system is starting to drown them out a little, however. she pours some more sake into haejinâs glass before pouring some into her own.
âiâm just saying,â thereâs a little whine, maybe even frustration in liyingâs tone. itâs not easy maintaining the relations yuripa has with other gangs when most of them are led by volatile, bullheaded bosses. she likes to think sheâs pretty fucking good at her job. yet people like haejin make it both easier and harder.
she takes a sip from her glass, then picks up a piece of sashimi with her chopsticks.
âdid you really have to break his arm?âÂ
or was it fracture? same thing.
now, while she finds haejinâs habits amusing and helpful, the other womanâs tendency to go a little overboard does weigh a little heavy on the envoyâs shoulders. she couldnât care less about the other people who have ended up in haejinâs little playroom, but itâs a different story when they belong to gangs and triads liying is in contact with. still entertaining, just with some added consequences, thatâs all.
âi mean, do you know how long it took to smooth things out over what happened last time?âÂ
