i think the one that makes the most sense for me is michael as a ravenclaw. he’s got a lot of niche knowledge about geeky things, but he also has a certain perfectionist attitude i associate with ravenclaws!!!! (re: making of killer queen, designing his own guitar). he has ambition and brashness and kindness as well, but i think that ravenclaw overrides everything for him. at least in my head!

i think ashton, honestly, could go in 4/4, but i see him being in slytherin or gryffindor. probably (at least in my opinion) gryffindor. he definitely has a lot of ambition and cunning, but there are certain things that make me think he’s a little more impulsive and brash than that (agreeing to play drums for three random kids over facebook, his uncensored humor, the infamous christmas sweater interview, etc etc). i think he is, at heart, unapologetically brave. (then again, there is the way that he lowkey turned three kids fucking around on youtube into an internationally famous band......that reads slytherin to me. but im gonna stick with gryffindor.)

i think calum is very interesting. hot take of the day is that i think calum is also a ravenclaw. especially after he broke down wildflower in that one video. i think the way calum approaches music and craftsmanship is very methodical and precise. he’s private, intelligent, and cares a lot about the pursuit of knowledge. i think, like, maybe he changed houses in the last few years? if you had asked me this in 2016 i would have said calum is a hufflepuff. the dude just loves everyone so hard and everyone loves him back just as much. and he’s always making the band laugh!! but now i think id say ravenclaw over that.

i think luke is a hufflepuff, although this one is a little trickier in my head. i think over the last few years he’s become someone who really wants to embrace all the good and bad aspects of himself and become a more honest songwriter and person. i think he’s a giver and a people-pleaser! he also has some gryffindor traits in him--the frontman of, like, any band would have to--but i think i would stand behind hufflepuff luke.

mashton each have a little slytherin in them for sure, though, and malum each have a lil hufflepuff too. i think you could make an argument for a lot of different combinations!!!!

long story short: ravenclaws malum, gryffindor ashton (but really slytherdor ashton), hufflepuff luke.
