Some more old art. Mint from Threads of Fate, drawn last year
Fancy Mel from Threads of Fate (Dewprism)
Mint from Threads of Fate. Underrated game.
Workday was really stupidly long today, so here's a fast drawing of Mint from Threads of Fate. OwO
...Rue is actually my favorite character, but his outfit is more complicated.

Threads of Fate / Dewprism Fan Art
A fan art piece for "Threads of Fate" (known as "Dewprism" in Japan). I challenged myself to depict numerous characters enjoying themselves lively in the game's world. I also focused on capturing each character's unique expression and vibrant colors. This artwork is for my personal portfolio use only and is not for commercial purposes.
I just blabbed about this on bluesky but I'm gonna regurgitate it over here
I'm no kind of vidya game theory crafter but I need to talk about something in Deltarune chapter 4 that I really doubt I'll see anyone else talk about and that is a new musical leitmotif that shows up in Crumbling Tower riiiight near the end at 2:30
(No major spoilers, but I'm tagging it that way to be safe)
I IMMEDIATELY froze during play when I heard this because I instantly recognized it from one of my favorite games ever.
This leitmotif is used multiple times in Threads of Fate.
Let's start with this track, about a minute in:
Then here:
It's hard to put in words but this tune means a whole lot to me.
The first time I ever felt a "Hopes and Dreams" type feeling in a video game was when I heard A Chance Meeting in Threads of Fate, at a huge climactic story part.
Toby Fox is well known for making references to older video games, and I can't help but think this is no coincidence. It's just too spot on. And the more I thought about it, the more I realize Deltarune and Threads of Fate have a lot of parallels. Both games involve making friends with some of your enemies and their support in helping you accomplish things you couldn't on your own.
Both games involve "Vessels that house souls". In Threads of Fate, a major plot line is a doll questioning if it's okay to go against its purpose of being a vessel for a character's soul who doesn't have a permanent body. There's parallels here to Kris, but also potentially to Ralsei.
Another potential parallel I can point out is that in Threads of Fate, one of the main characters you can play as is Mint, whose goal is world domination. Obviously, being a main character, she instead ends up being a hero.
Sounds kind of like Susie, who started chapter 1 by being a 'bad guy'.
And finally, Threads of Fate is a game about the journey to get a [relic] that can grant any wish. In other words, changing and defying fate.
Which is turning into a main theme of Deltarune.
I know it's a lot to glean from a 20 second little melody, and there's no guarantee that any of this is not just entirely coincidental, I just think it's really cool!
