“are you going to eat that?” she asks, staring pointedly at devon’s still-wrapped hostess cake. “because you shouldn’t. it’s gross.” / @devonfm​

        “ i'm still getting mixed up and doing some signs backwards, aren’t i? ”  her eyebrows knit together and she sighed in frustration. the nerd she is, she’s been teaching herself asl on the side — initially for devon’s sake, but by now it’s just as much for fun. “ this would be a lot easier if i could take a real class with real human beings. ”  /  @devonfm​

“are you going home for the holidays or staying here?” emily asks, looking up from her book. as far as she knows, everyone’s going to leave, and she’ll be stuck in this place with her brother for god knows how long.
