so Disney partnered with Devo to create a kid-friendly version of Devo called Devo 2.0, and they made a version of Uncontrollable Urge that was explicitly about food instead of implicitly about sex. it fucking failed (good thing) but it's hilarious. most songs have their main lyrics intact, just edited to not have insults or references to sex in them and yet. *teenage girl singer voice* so whip it! whip it good!
Speaking about child bands modeled off others, in 2005 Disney, with the help of Devo, put together an all children Devo cover band.
This video of Devo explaining the project is probably the best way to hear what it was like working with Disney to create a child friendly image of their band.
