            THE TOWN OF DEVINSTONE WELCOMES YOU TO THE ANNUAL SPRING FEST

The last of the season’s snow has melted away and spring is finally upon us. For a week in the middle of march, the town of Devinstone welcomes you to the annual SPRING FEST, a fun event for both adults and families alike. The council has spared no expense, offering entertainment booths of various kinds, food trucks from all over the state (don’t worry, there’s carnival food too!), carnival games and dozens of rides suitable for the entire family. Starting FRIDAY the 13th of March, join us for a week of food, games, challenges, music, and more! It’s sure to be a fun adventure for everyone!

EVENT DATE (in game and real time): March 13th - March 20th, 2020. TIME: Gates to the grounds open at 10am and close at 11pm daily. LOCATION: Fields right outside Devinstone.

Welcome to Devinstone, Massachusetts, a picturesque and quaint small town, known for its low crime rates and boasted among families with children for being oh so safe for them to grow up in, safely tucked away behind white picket fences. But what happens when the town goes dark, and all the picket fences in the world can’t hide them?

A police van was travelling along the highway transporting three highly dangerous criminals. The Nolan Brothers, a serial killing threesome have been plaguing the East Coast for almost twenty years, with the actual number of dead to their name left to staggering estimations. The Nolan boys were caught a couple weeks ago, and are being transported for trial. Somewhere along the road, they took over the van, escaping into the winter wonderland of Massachusetts, headed for the nearest town -- they’re not done yet.

The men are considered armed and extremely dangerous, and a lock down has been issued on the town of Devinstone until the brothers are caught. Citizens are advised to stay indoors, lock all doors and windows, and to notify the authorities at any sign of the escaped convicts. Safe places are popping up around town, the City Hall and several local businesses are opening havens for those who can’t get home in time. And for those currently at the Ambrosia estate? Well, they’d be considered the safest, wouldn’t they? But masquerade flyers have been posted all over town; it’s no secret where most of the town is hiding out.

But wait.

There’s a storm brewing over the hills and dark clouds are about to settle. A fierce storm is under way, a blizzard since long warned about, and it’s threatening to blow power and cut off phone reception. There’s nothing more frightening than hiding from escaped convincts in the dark, is there?

... and the police have issued a bulletin lifting the lockdown on the town. The mayor, along with the chief of police, assure everybody that they have reason to believe the danger has passed and that the Nolan brothers have moved on from the area. However, one of our own had a run-in with the brothers. Jake Fox, ER generalist at Devinstone Medical Center, was unfortunately attacked while leaving the winter masquerade. It is believed that Dr. Fox suffered some injuries when the brothers hijacked his car and left him out in the cold. After spending the night in the hospital, he is expected to make a full recovery. As for the storm, it lost most of its power overnight and never had an impact on the town’s power supply. Some residencies may have experienced minor damages, and crews are working restlessly to clear the streets of both snow and debris. After an eventful night, it’s looking to be a beautiful, sunny day.

.... and the doors are officially opened to the ballroom. A live band fills the silence between the walls as people start to arrive, each guest greeted by the Ambrosia family and a glass of champagne by staff as they walk in. There’s an open bar with every beverage you could think of, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, whatever you may choose. Food is offered by wait staff as they make their way through the crowd, trays full of various bite sized goods to keep everyone satisfied. There’s a warning out for a blizzard and freezing temperatures, but it’s nothing that concerns the masquerade goers as they indulge themselves in the grand festivities. Why worry about the weather when there’s a party going? And the night is still young...
