Your voice was soft as you forced the question out of your throat, feeling the muscles contract in revolt. It was certainly an uncomfortable feeling but you nagged to power through it.
âCan I- can I paint you p-please, Akira? I mean it wonât- it wonât be too long if you donât mind that is?â
Akira nearly died seeing you flushed expression and shaking hands, you had certainly never been more adorable than in this moment. Grasping your hands with vigor, Akira agreed with no hesitance.
âOf course you can paint me! I would be honored!â âHow should I pose? Like this? Or maybe this?â
You laughed softly as he posed in the most dramatic fashion with such a serious expression. You gently led him onto a stool and told him to act natural. He did so, shoulder slightly slouching as he stared at you with an amused expression as you settled behind your easel.
You worked quickly at the time, brush seemingly moving so fast Akira didnât even notice as you dipped in for more of the carefully mixed oil paints.
Other times it as slow, as you stared at Akira hard, taking in every feature and committing it to memory.
Once you were done you closed Akiraâs eyes and led him to the masterpiece. Letting him see it, you watched as tears pooled in his eyes and his grabbed to in a tight embrace.
The scene unfolded by paints and strokes was of Akira, his head thrown back in a boisterous laugh as he strolled down a street mere blocks for your high school.
He was happy in the painting, but yet his eyes held that certain sadness he always seemed to carry these days. He wasnât a tragedy, no, but a content novel with yellowed pages and heavy wear.
You had made him beautiful, you truly had.
