i think it means so much that the movie is NAMED off of varadha's nickname for his childhood friend...like??? we know the movie centers around their relationship, but wow, it really centers around their relationship.

it's been years of being apart from each other, and they know each other like it hasn't been a day since their last meeting.

+ my roman empire:

varadha sacrificed his honor for deva when he let him get away, all those years ago. and he's swallowed humiliation. countless times. for years on end. and would continue to do so for deva, a boy who showed him love when probably even his family hated his existence.

and deva would sacrifice his life and pride for varadha's safety. would do anything varadha asked for – even at cost to himself.

AND,

we've ended the movie with all of the shouryangaa clan, ready to devote their life to the rightful king, deva.

It's inherently a word which denotes not one person but two.

It denotes not only the role of one man but the relationship between two.

Because Deva can only exist as "Salaar" if there is Varadha as his "Sultan".

Without Varadha there would be no "Salaar" and everytime I think about it, I'm taken by the duality of the story.

Because even if at first glance we may think that the story is about Deva and his sacrifices for his friend and the things he did for his loved one, it's not just that.

It was always a double edged movie. Just as we see Deva touch a live wire for Varadha, Varadha also gives away Bharghat (the importance of which we all know) for Deva.

The reason why he’s so sensitive to those women’s torment is cause he knows how it is to live as an omega.
