"why would you want to put yourself through something like that?" perhaps he never fully understood why tim would want to drag himself into this same path. even dick and jason and barbara would tell him that it’s not a good idea. all of them had reasons to join and perhaps, he had always been reluctant after dick to get more people into the secret, into the symbol. “you could’ve gone to college. probably have a phd, or more than one.” like he does. but tim is perhaps smarter in some regards. he could grow and be something outside the shadow of what wearing the symbol means.
