Anyone know of a D&D mod to change how Detect Evil work?

Downside to the traditional Detect Evil is it is either too obvious (they read evil) or too easy to subvert with spells (or a sheet of lead).

I like the idea of a scale reading, the spell shows you somewhere between one and ten, and you have to judge them based off of that. Few people would rate a ten, but likewise only a few would reach a one. Just because you’re high on the evil scale,doesn’t mean you’re guilty. Plenty of people have hard points of morality that don’t really fit in with their overall evility.

Think most people would come out around three. Don’t really do anything actively evil, but do have evil thoughts, and rationalize away most of the questionable stuff one way or another.

I think I rate a solid four or five on the theoretical evil scale. Aware of my own evilness, but not really going out of my way to do it, mainly due to laziness. Or channeling it into games.
