A Turkish activist described shocking abuse against climate campaigner Greta Thunberg during Israel's raid on the Global Sumud Flotilla.

"They dragged little Greta by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag. They did everything imaginable to her, as a warning to others," Ersin Celik, a flotilla participant, told Anadolu Agency.

Quebec provincial police have arrested a man in connection with the death of Nicous D'Andre Spring, 21, who was fatally injured while being illegally detained at Bordeaux jail in 2022. Sébastien Bossé, 54, was charged with manslaughter at the Montreal courthouse on Thursday. The accused, a Bordeaux jail manager, was released and is expected back in court on Aug. 22. In an emailed statement, the Public Security Ministry said the accused was a unit head at the time but was relieved of his duties in December 2022.

Remember Alcatraz, home of some of the United States' worst criminals?

These images are of "Alligator Alcatraz": A concentration camp for so-called illegal immigrants. Alligator Alcatraz, one of the United States' latest detention centres for immigrants, was just built and made ready for use. According to ABC News, this facility is built to contain 3,000 people. It has been equipped with more than 200 security cameras, 400+ security personnel, and 28,000 feet of barbed wire. Alligator Alcatraz doesn't only keep detainees under 24 hours security. They have even more fear tactics.

Detainees are to live in cages, as can be seen in the image above. You think living in your house with your family is bad? Imagine living in a cage with fifteen other people, forced to sleep on thin mattresses and share three open toilets. That means detainees will have no comfort, no privacy. They are being treated like animals, like dogs in an over-filled and under-funded dog shelter.

In addition, there is no hope of leaving. This camp is in the middle of the Everglades - surrounded by lands populated with alligators, which are (as we all know) very dangerous to people, especially when threatened. If putting hundreds of armed security personnel into the Everglades doesn't equal threatening the wildlife, I don't know what will. This means that immigrants are going to be surrounded by dangerous animals, sleeping in giant tents.

Do you see those tents in the image below? That is where the detainees will be kept. That is where their cages are. Not even in buildings. They are to sleep in tents, close together, in one of the hottest U.S. states.
