Destiel x Reader… somehow, I forget it exists because I stay away from the tag. It feels like bi erasure more often than not.
BUT
I imagine the brothers sharing a partner is a gateway to Destiel x Reader. I also think it happens until after he’s gone through the Mark of Cain business.
Personally I feel like Dean has trouble accepting he's bi (obviously) and Destiel x fem!reader is how he comes to accept it, if that makes sense? Like, Dean can be "normal and straight" with reader and to start with I feel like Cas is just kinda, there. Reader and Cas are together but it's harder for Dean to accept that he is in fact in love with Cas and wants to be with him so this sort of, eases him into it? It's by no means the best or healthiest, but I feel like it would be the most realistic (I'm talking about a relationship with a fictional guy and and ANGEL but whatever, let's pretend I'm being realistic) So I don't see it as bi erasure (I haven't found pretty much any Destiel x reader fics so at this point I'll take what I can get) I see it more as Dean's internalized hatred (due to John but that's a topic for another day) to start with, then he gets more and more comfortable and it becomes a loving relationship between the three. It takes time and hard work, but they get there and once they're there? They're all in. Blissfully happy and completely in love.
Sorry if that was a rant or I'm taking the term "bi erasure" wrong, I honestly haven't really heard of it before.
As for timing, I pretty much agree. It's hard to pick a time due to canon so it's kinda confusing where it sits in my head but I have a feeling it's somewhere around then. BUT the Amara stuff complicates things so in my mind when writing, it's just in this little pocket of time and space outside of the canon event season to season.
Destiel poly you say? Please elaborate. For science!
