The beginning of the end
"Cynthia." Kaleb waved his hand at her. "I need a little bit of help, little one. Care to join me?" Cynthia glances over at him, wearing a cute one-piece and swimming around in the lake on Tython. "Sure!" As enthusiastic as ever, she slides out of the lake and walks over to him, covering her freckled shoulders as she wraps her arms around herself. Kaleb took off his jacket and offered it to her with a small smile. "Thanks. I appreciate it." His mace rattled on his hip as he walked. Her lightly freckled hands grasp the jacket and she swings it over her. "I love Tython. It's so peaceful and the sun feels so good on me." There's something about standing there wrapped in his jacket that reminds her of their friendship. She doesn’t remember her dad. Just Kaleb. “What’s up?”
"Something just feels wrong." He shook his head. "I just want to do a quick patrol." He grinned a little bit, "It's nothing to be worried about." They headed first to the hangar. "How have you been?"
"Oh, happy. I've been making friends with the baby dragons. A lot of them follow this other cute girl around." The jacket is too big for her and the tips of her fingers don't reach out of the sleeves, so she wipes water from her freckly cheek away with the cuff of the jacket. "If something has you on edge I'm sure we can find it and solve it." Her voice is full of her usual happiness and somewhat carefree attitude, as if this disturbance is nothing to worry about.
"It is my job to keep people safe. If there's danger, I have to worry." He shrugged as they entered the hangar. "I'm sure it's nothing but I have to be careful anyway." Even if it wasn't exactly just his domain. Lenea emerged in the hangar just as they arrived, bleeding from her eye. She was cursing viciously, stomping towards her ship with a fury in her eye. She didn't notice them at first.
The sunlight streams in behind Cynthia and makes her orange hair shine even more. "Are you okay lady?" She asks kindly, giving the bluenette a worried look. Kaleb glanced down at Cynthia and then moved towards Lenea, frowning. "Do you need help?" He asked quietly, offering his hand to her. His mace stayed prominently on his hip.
"I'm fine...I need to just leave." She grunted. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she headed immediately for the ship. "But...You guys can come with me if you want? I'm going to a haven of sorts." She just sensed something strange and figured if she could get them to help, it might be beneficial.
"A haven? Callie told me about one of those... In wild space." It's said more as a mumble to herself than really telling anyone. "What happened to your eye?" Cynthia asked the bluenette. Kaleb followed Len. He was sure if he trusted her or not but she certainly seemed like an anomaly. He was quiet for the time being.
"That's the one." Len murmured, shaking her head. "I have a mechanical implant and it started hurting really bad...I took it out but that didn't help at all." She gave a sheepish chuckle.
"Oh. Well. If there's a haven then there's probably not much danger. Kaleb?" Bright eyes turn toward him. “Where’s that thing you’re sensing?”
"I'm not sure...It's here...Somewhere. I'm going to go with her. You can stay or go if you wish, Cynthia." He smiled and ran a hand through her hair sweetly.
Len listened, a smirk on her lips. She boarded the ship, waiting just by the entrance to see if they would be joining her.
“Oh. Well I’d rather be with you!” The happy teen boards the ramp, oblivious to her impending fate.

Headcanon that the Queen and Absulon argue ALL THE TIME about the stupidest things but because it’s telepathic no one else ever knows.
Absulon - the Xeno-arkan: you know if I could talk I would probably point out that if we knew another way to survive, we would probably do that instead.
Absulon: but instead I have to go and put this black shit into this stupid pool
Absulon: and wait while the arkans die instead of just /killing them myself/.
Absulon: I hate my life.
