Instructions: Set the oven temperature to 300 degrees Fahrenheit 150 degrees Celsius and place a silicone baking mat or parchment paper on a baking sheet. Pulverize the powdered sugar and almond flour in a food processor. Pulse until thoroughly combined and finely ground. Pour the mixture into a sizable mixing basin. Beat the egg whites on medium speed in a separate bowl using an electric mixer until frothy. While beating, gradually add the granulated sugar. Turn the mixer up to high and beat until the meringue gets glossy and stiff peaks form. Using a spatula, gently fold the vanilla extract into the meringue mixture. Fold gently but thoroughly after each addition of the almond flour and powdered sugar mixture, adding the mixture to the meringue in thirds. The batter should be lava-like in consistency and smooth. Separate the macaron batter into bowls, one for each desired color of emoji that you wish to create. To get the desired color, add food coloring gel to each bowl and gently fold it in. Fill a piping bag with a round tip after transferring each colored macaron batter or just snip a tiny hole in the corner of a plastic bag. Leaving some space between each circle, pipe tiny circles of batter onto the baking sheet that has been prepared. Put the emoji templates under the parchment paper if you're using them, then pipe the macarons to resemble the emoji faces. To pop any air bubbles in the macarons, tap the baking sheet firmly against the counter. Allow the macarons to sit at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes, or until a surface layer forms. For 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are set and have formed feet the tiny ruffled edges, bake the macarons in the preheated oven. Before attempting to remove the macarons from the baking sheet, take them out of the oven and allow them to cool completely. After the macarons have cooled, carefully remove the parchment paper from them and arrange them into pairs according to their sizes and shapes. Your preferred emoji-inspired filling such as fruit jam, buttercream, or chocolate ganache should be filled into a piping bag. Pipe a small amount onto the flat side of one macaron shell.
