Bowtie Cookies are delicate, buttery treats ideal for special occasions or afternoon tea. Their distinctive shape adds a touch of elegance to your dessert table.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup sour cream. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 large egg. Powdered sugar, for dusting.
Instructions: Put the flour, cold butter, granulated sugar, and salt in a food processor and blend them together. Pulse the ingredients together until they look like big crumbs. To the mix, add the sour cream and vanilla extract. Once more, pulse the dough until it starts to stick together. Put some flour on a surface and knead the dough a few times until it forms a smooth ball. Put it in the fridge for 30 minutes after wrapping it in plastic wrap. Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Spread the dough out until it's about 1/8-inch thick. Cut the dough into bowtie shapes with a sharp knife or a bowtie-shaped cookie cutter. Prepare the baking sheet and put the bow tie cookies on it. For a golden look, beat the egg and brush it over the cookies. After the oven is hot, bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way. Cover the cookies with powdered sugar and set them aside until they are completely cool.
