ATHENAāS THE FUCKING COOLESTĀ
She was the shy, sheltered daughter of a rocket scientist/engineer/technician named Dr. Metis Cykes. Metisās coworkerās (Auraās) little brother (Simon) was her Metisās apprentice/self-proclaimed samurai as well as Athenaās babysitter.Ā
Metis spent most of her time working on making headphones that could help Athenaās ears, which meant more time in the lab and not with Athena, so Athena grew up with Simon being her main parental figure.Ā
THEN ONE DAY A LAUNCH WAS SABOTAGED AND SHIT EXPLODED because a spy had fucked shit up, but there was a gov coverup. Simon - a prosecutor/detective - set about working to catch the fucker. He asked Metis to hold onto some evidence and do some analysis for him bc sheās way better with computersā¦Ā
ā¦and she was murdered by the spy.Ā
Athena witnessed this murder. She was in the room. She came in, her mother was dead, spy was there holding a bloody sword. SO NATURALLY THIS 11-YEAR-OLDāS FIRST INSTINCT WAS TO GRAB A KNIFE AND SHANK THE FUCKER.Ā She stabs him in the hand (permanently scarring him) but he gets away with the evidence.Ā
So then Athena was alone with her momās corpse.Ā
And Athena was a very sheltered, traumatized 11-year-old who had grown up with an engineer mother around machines.Ā
You know what they sayā¦ā¦ā¦if something stops workingā¦ā¦take it apart and put it back together againā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..
So thatās the story of how 11-year-old Athena messily disemboweled her motherās corpse.Ā
SIMON WALKED IN ON THIS AND HE WAS NOT HAPPY. He knew the Phantom had did it but he also knew there was NO way to prove that with tiny 11-year-old Athena covered in blood (and with no one knowing who the Phantom is except for him and like 1-2 other ppl). This is a universe that WILL hang kids for murder btw.Ā
So Simon, to protect Athena, set it up to look like HE killed Metis and adopted a false aggressive, violent persona.Ā
Athena couldnāt remember a THING (trauma blocked the memory), has NO idea she gutted her mother or who did the murder, but she knows that Simonās not a violent man and that heās actually a nerd.Ā
On top of that, Athena can hear your emotions and tell when youāre lying via listening to your heart rate. She could hear that Simon was lying when he said he killed Metis and sad over her death.Ā
Athena moved to Europe, learned almost every fucking language, and proceeded to dedicate herself to becoming a defense attorney so that she can get herĀ ādadā acquitted.Ā
She now has a device called the Mood Matrix (that her mother invented but she only got recently) that does the same thing (interpreting heartbeats as emotions) but like 10x better and 10x more admissible in court.Ā
In Europe, she met Miles and Phoenix, the former of which she told her story to and the latter of which she became the apprentice of. Miles went to go cahoots it up with Simon while Phoenix just kinda got vague hints.Ā
Anyway, throw in Bobby Fulbright and me crying and thatās Dual Destinies.Ā
No, Iām just legit beaning every boss I can thatās weak to Lvl 5 Death. Dark Spark is really useful for that, because if theyāre level 21, for example, the system will round them down to 10 upon halving their level, making them susceptible. Itās fun! And a small favor when Iām only able to use these four classes. :>

My opinion on Micaiah might waffle back and forth, but sheās really not nearly as bad as I thought first time around. The game tries too hard to give her too much, but she isnāt irredeemable. Her character designs are also all really cute.
Awakening would have been 200% better if Chrom had been an decoy protagonist prior to Lucinaās introduction, or if Emmeryn hadnāt died in Chapter 9.
It has some of the best music of the series, though, along with Radiant Dawn.
I would give my left arm to get Senri Kita back as the main promotional artist for the next Fire Emblem game. Iād probably give the left leg, too, for Sachiko Wada instead.
