I think we left it ambiguous? I mean I'm all in for a happy ending to this one and one big Auditore family so I'm fine if you want them to make up.
If you don't want them to make up, I think they would still be nice to one another. There's certainly love between the three of them and it shows but it's also clear that love wasn't enough in the end. In that kind of setup, I think Claudia would be the one to try and find a person for her papa and Desmond would just chuckle and go "It's fine. If it happens, it happens." because, really, he doesn't think he's ready to fall as deeply in love as he did before.
Maybe sometime in the future...
But right now...
He's fine with how things have ended.
