Yes, and the degree of overwhelming varies. In general, cyberspace is kinda disorienting; the sights, the sounds, the danger…Those, I can acclimate to, it just takes time and practice. There are also so many social customs and taboos and small things that make Programs different from American human culture. Just when I think I’ve learned enough to blend in, I find out I’m not even close yet.Â
But The Grid itself? I think the sadness and anger are more overwhelming than anything else. Thorne was bad. F-Con dominated by Wraiths was a nightmare. The Grid? What’s left of it? It makes those places look like Ma3a’s Encom. Finding out that a lot of the blame for it lies at the feet of someone I used to respect just makes it worse. I want to fix things, to make things right again. These people deserve better. Â
