🦣 - The first one... probably more would come to mind but:

Not meta: it's probably a common answer but I still can't get over the fact that a severed hand grew up a little mouth and breastfed from its previous owner. And the being that grew from that is called "Dertu" because "Derek 2" was too lazy xD.

Meta: that the Queen of the Damned / Akasha premise came from Anne thinking Star Wars was too cliché.

The idea for the theme of this novel came to Rice on a plane: "I was watching one of the Star Wars movies. I think Luke Skywalker was fighting with Darth Vader, and Vader was saying, 'Give in to the dark force inside you.' It was horribly cliche. That's when it came to mewhat Queen of the Damned ought to be. Essentially, the queen should have an extremely good idea, but it should still be evil. The real evil in the world is always a complex and seductive thing that sounds brilliant." - The Vampire Companion

🩸 - My go-to answer is, I would make myself, Magnus style. But if I had to choose someone.... This took me a while to think about, the idea of being connected by blood for eternity gives me some kind of anxiety xD. Maybe Fareed. He's more detached than other vampires when it comes to his philosophy of making new ones, and Flannery seems fine. A Faustian deal or sorts.
