Ice cream can be as deliciously satisfying melting away in your tummy as it is melting away in your earholes, or so I’ve come to discover thanks to Canadian five piece Derrival. Ice Cream is the band’s first single in two long years and an infectious thrumming indie rock and alt pop treat for the final days of summer. You can snag the lusciously effulgent alt single, a must for fans of COIN, CRUISR, Smallpools, and more, from iTunes, here.
The Autumn Game by Derrival
I'm going insane, I've been listening to this song on and off for about 10 years-- found through an 8tracks list or fanmix in general-- and the band seems to have scrubbed it from their socials at some point. All I can find now are old lyrics pages and a couple crunchy live show fan recordings.
I still think it's pretty good so here's the mp3 file for posterity (and in case iTunes eventually purges all my ancient sea-salty files).
(check out their more "recent" stuff too)
Derrival @ The Commodore Ballroom
Derrival @ The Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver, BC November 20th, 2014
Vancouver locals Derrival, specifically from Fort Langley, put on a blast at the Commodore Ballroom for their finalist act in The Peak Performance Project. The band ultimately took 2nd place behind Surrey's Good For Grapes, but not without putting on one major show.
