Wow, was so impressed with the last night’s launch of Illustration + Print Open! So much local talent! 🤩 Really felt proud to be a part of it! 😊 . On display are two of my pieces; the first “Sonic Hair 2013”, was my envisioning of growing up quietly as a girl gamer - I grew up with the Mega Drive as a kid, but often, I felt embarrassed or even ashamed to be a girl who liked playing games lol 😶 Thankfully, today it‘s very different. 😊 The second is “Shinflowers”, a piece based on our experiences with the internet and how we consume it...🤓 . If there’s one thing exhibiting work is giving me, it’s ideas for more... can’t wait to create more in line with these works! Constructure Series, Glass, 50x50x1cm Constructure series takes delicate individual Relief Drawings, a technique I developed whilst I was a masters student at the Royal College of Art, and through fusing these thin layers of glass in the kiln, creates a multilayered mesh that is stronger than any individual layer alone.
