This is a school assignment btw. But I do mean this. To all you depressed people out there! I know that you don’t want to admit it because of how the media depicts you guys, but ignore that! You are not like that. You need to get help, no matter what. Talk to someone about it, if someone calls you insane, ignore them and walk away. You are not insane. To quote a passage I read about this. “According to the national alliance for the mentally ill, mental illnesses are biological brain disorders that disrupt a persons thinking. The surgeon general’s report on mental health estimates that one in five Americans will experience mental health illness at some point in his or her life—almost as many as those who have heart disease. Yet the term “mental illness” carries a stigma that the term “physical illness” does not. The stigma is perpetuation and reinforcement of outdated stereotypes based on myths and misconceptions about mental illness. One of the main reasons for this stigma is the way that mental illness is portrayed on tv, in movies and in news reports.” Source: explore.proquest.com/sirsdiscoverer/document/2263040399?searchid=1595961762&accountid=231
