therapy on no insurance
A few people have asked me how I got a therapist when I’ve talked about having no health insurance before (this is mostly due to cost, being self-employed etc) but anyway, a friend told me about Open Path. It’s 50 bucks to join, but it’s a ONE TIME fee, all the therapists that offer services through open path charge between 30-50 a session, no more than that.
You can search and contact therapists to see if they’ll be a good fit BEFORE you pay to join, and then you just forward them your membership when you join. I started searching on a monday and had an appointment within a week. Obviously 80 bucks to start isn’t ideal, but it’s an option and it’s a place to work off of.
Another option are sliding scale clinics or universities nearby that offer public services!
