10/03/17 - Depoe Bay, OR - WHALE WATCHING - Went out on a bike ride today and saw lots of whales closer to shore than usual due to the calm seas. That by itself was awesome. Then, things went to a whole new level when we got to watch this guy up close and personal from a bridge of all places. At first, it looked like the whale was disoriented and stranded in the small cove below the bridge. But the whale kept circling back and doing a deep dive in the same place over and over. Later in the day, a local explained that whales often visit this small cove under the bridge to feed in the underwater shrimp beds.
