Karnataka High Court Upholds Disciplinary Action Against Tribunal Employee, Highlights Importance of Obedience in Public Service. ➡️The *Case I am sharing today relates to the insubordination of an employee of the Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal (KSAT) towards the orders of the Chairman of KSAT. ➡️The High Court took a serious view of the misconduct and dismissed the Writ Petition with costs of ₹10,000 to be paid to the KSAT within six weeks and directed that non-compliance would attract a penalty of ₹100 per day. ➡️The court emphasized that adherence to official instructions is not merely an obligation but a cornerstone of professional conduct, integral to maintaining order and efficiency within public offices. ➡️The Karnataka High Court reiterated that an employee cannot defy lawful orders from superiors, as it undermines organizational discipline. ➡️The court upheld disciplinary action against a Tribunal employee for refusing to comply with directives from the Chairman.
