Most of the characters who have a more explicit romantic relationship in the text are older characters. I feel the fandom greatly underestimates the issue of Arya's age, she is only 12 years old and may end the saga at 13 or 14 :/ I think that, at most, George will play around with this in subtext but leave her ending more open to others possibilities. She is simply too young to have her whole life decided, and she hasn't had many experiences in that sense (in fact, at the moment, none; she never held anyone's hand or kissed them out of romantic affection). While older characters have had multiple experiences and love interests. Of the main characters, the only one who also doesn't have more experience is Bran, and he is even younger than her. Feels somewhat super restrictive, Arya being the only without this range of possibilities when she is super sociable, charismatic and cosmopolitan and when others main characters are able to experience relationships and phases. The lack of time jump really hurt her in that sense too. Of course, her age isn't going to save her from everything. But if it's going to be a positive experience, I don't think George is going to be weird so will be probably appropriate to her age. If there is an epilogue, I believe it will be more vague and without many details, perhaps from Bran's perspective. George's last epilogue in a novel was very short and bittersweet.
Come closer, I have a secret to tell you⌠It's very, very, very likely we'll never read the full ending to this story written by Martin. And even if we did, I don't think there's anything wrong with imagining and fantasizing about how the story could continue in the future, or what it would have been like with a time jump, etc.
Sorry, let's get serious. I wouldn't mind if Arya had more experiences. In fact, I would prefer it. Sure, Gendrya is the endgame of my heart, but they're not together right now. They've never even straight up said they like each other.
If the story continued with a time jump, I'd love to read about Arya spending her adolescence in Braavos, growing up, having stories. For example, I really like the idea of ââher having a relationship with Denyo Terys, perhaps during the journey back to Westeros, because I loved the Salty chapter.
I also enjoy the idea of ââArya falling in love with Willow. They're so similar, I think it would be hilarious and incredibly sweet.
Gendry is my "problem." I realize it may be unrealistic, but I see him as very much a "virgin until the right person comes". I can't explain it, maybe it's his bad temper. Maybe it's the contrast with Robert that makes me like the idea. Or maybe it's the reversal of gender roles expectations.
Let me play with my dolls! XD
