Denis’ other nephew, Ewan’s older brother, Colin McGregor, is also a fighter pilot, for the RAF, and flies under the call-sign ‘Obi-Two’ which is a riff on his brother’s Star Wars character Obi-Wan. It makes more sense when you know that ‘Wan’ is Scots slang for one. Interestingly, you could almost say Ewan was born to play the Jedi Master, already having ‘Wan’ in his name.
