‘Denim Day’ - 28th April 2021 - and the art team pulled out all the stops here at Strode College in Somerset to wear denim and to discuss the issues. This started after a conversation instigated by one of our terrific Art Foundation students back in a pathway assessment in November. She, @anniepugsley, made a pair of anti-rape jeans and everyone in the assessment group was asked to leave hand prints on them, playful, performative and very thought provoking. I hadn’t heard of denim day before this conversation and it was great to raise awareness yesterday and to show solidarity with victims of sexual violence.
