Wiping the grease that was on his hands onto his overalls, the mechanic would look toward the one speaking to him before shaking his head. "There's nothin' wrong with not understandin' what I was sayin' at all." Most normal people didn't really know what parts were where on their vehicles, that's why they came to him whenever something went wrong.
He wasn't one of the most referred to mechanics for no reason, he knew his way around an engine, and then some. "Look, cars are intricate machines, that's all there really is to it." Given that the kid was alone, he had a feeling the car wasn't his. What he wasn't able to figure out yet was how the kid wound up at his garage.
"I'm happy to answer any questions ya have and I can offer ya somethin' to drink and eat, since I keep my office fridge stocked." There was an array of easy to prepare things in the fridge, from sandwiches that were ready to eat (and fresh!), to those microwaveable burritos and the like. As far as drinks went there were bottles of water, some juices, electrolyte drinks, and even pops.

A native Japanese man with orange hair, no less. He got all sorts of crap about it growing up. Now that he was an adult he wasn't going to just stand around letting adults bully teenagers.
Most people recognized him and avoided him due to his reputation. It wasn't like Ichigo was shy when it came to getting into fights when he was younger. He put a lot of thugs and delinquents into the hospital back then. Even going as far as to call ambulances for them and everything. "Besides, this is my city and those guys really should know better than to start things around here." Especially since this was his street.
"I'd rather scare them off than let them rough you up any day." Ichigo wasn't prone to letting people get beat up like that. Sure, he used to start a lot of fights back when he was a teen, now he finished them, usually by showing up. Though, he did get into a few bar fights every now and then. Usually out of boredom and only in his squishy human body.
"You don't look like you're from around here. Come from out of town?" Nobody came to Karakura without a reason to. Most usually came because they heard tales of Ichigo himself.

He doesn't ignore the same warnings his sister does. In a desperation to try and appease his father, he tries to hang onto his every word. The last thing he wants is to entice his wrath.
But Nobukatsu forgot things easily under stress. He's been forgetting a lot more recently. He's had the same lectures as Nobunaga, but - unlike his sister- he couldn't retain all the people he's been told to avoid. He can't remember....he can't remember if this man is supposed to be one of them.
But he's scared of him regardless. When the other tries to approach him, he cowers back with scuttling feet - letting out a small gasp.
His right arm cradles his left defensively. He hasn't dared to look at it underneath his torn sleeve, full of dust off of his father's shoes. He's not sure if anything's broken, but there's undoubtedly a tapestry of red, purple and yellow on his skin that would make his stomach turn.
"G-get...get away from me..." The demand he makes comes out as nothing more than a whimper. "Just leave me alone!"
He doesn't want to get hurt again.

" Yeah. " The response was simple. It wasn't often that Draken left Tokyo, let alone Kanto as a whole. But he'd heard about Makochi, and the way that some of the local delinquent scene was. There were people here who fought in the name of justice, for protection, and that made him very curious.
He let his gaze drift down the street and took in the storefronts, the people, and the way the light hit differently here than it did back home. It was peaceful, almost cozy.
" Pretty.... strange place. " He let his bike settle more, tilting until it was rested entirely on its sidestand.
