I did a Mha one of this and felt it was only fair to do Demon Slayer as well! This will be going on my master list (Judge Me section), but for the most part, as I’ve mentioned, no more posts will be going on there unless necessary (I will be making a Hazbin song lyrics deep dive and that will be on the Masterlist. But mostly nothing new is going on there). I’ve moved into doing smaller posts. 

Since there are only four seasons, that means there’s not a huge variety of openings and endings. So Imma put every opening and ending in a category! 

Let’s get started with rating my favorite opening and endings (Excluding the movies, like the Infinity Castle or any future ones. Just the four seasons.):

For animation/setup (opening): 

I gotta go Mugen train! Obviously Demon Slayer has some of the best animation I’ve ever seen in general. Duh. But the opening of Mugen Train arc/beginning of season 2…I just…ugh! I love it so much!

I also love the Sword Smith village arc/season 3 opening for its animation. Not saying I don’t like the songs of these two openings, I just wouldn’t put them as a favorite for the song 🤷‍♀️ but animation is peaaaak!

For animation/setup (ending): I’mma be real when I say I don’t like season 4 ending song. I don’t hate it, but it’s definitely not my favorite. HOWEVER, animation for it is really good. I like the starting out of Muzan walking and just…ugh! I can’t. Demon slayer fr has the best animation I’ve seen if an anime.

Entertainment district ending is also a good one for animation. I like the like, what are they, scarves? Falling gracefully like that. Its set up so well.

For the song (opening): I love love looovve the season 1 opening song. I guess I just love Lisa 🤷‍♀️ maybe that’s why. But it’s really good.

Season 4 opening song is also really good.! It’s so pretty! And I gotta add in an animation moment I love. That part with Muzan and Ubuyashki when their back to back then face to face with the swords around them. It’s cool! Not enough animation in my opinion for me to favorite it for animation AND song, but that moment just always stood out to me.

For the song (ending): I guess I do love Lisa cause season 1 ending song is also favorited for the song! 😊

Sword Smith village arc has a good song as well! I will admit I would probably not put this in animation AND song category 🤷‍♀️ because as I look at it, obvi the animation is awesome, but it doesn’t stand out enough for me to put it in animation and song category. I do like the moment sweet, adorable Nezuko hugs Mitsuri tho! That’s my favorite moment in the ending 🥰

For animation/setup AND song (opening): Entertainment district. I am not elaborating a lot on this cause I physically don’t know how. Entertainment district is my favorite opening hands down. Like…the song is so catchy and the animation with the song…it’s perfect and will probably forever be my favorite opening. 

For animation/setup AND song (ending): 

The song and animation for the end of Mugen train is amazing! I love that part of Tanjiro and Rengoku (rip my sweet baby 🥺) seeing their family like, through pictures. Iykyk what I’m talking about. It’s hard to explain. I’ll try to find a pic of that part of the ending and put it in the post.

For nostalgia (Opening): The season 1 opening obvi (Gurenge?) I do like the song in that one! And it just gives so much nostalgia and reminds me how much the characters have grown ☺️

For nostalgia (ending): Once again, season 1 for sure! Watching a season 1 versus a season 4 or 7 or whatever just reminds you how much the characters have grown. Like ughhhhhhh! My sweet babies 🥹

Overall, entertainment district for sure has my favorite opening. My favorite opening in all of demon slayer. Like I’m sorry but 🤷‍♀️ there’s just something about it. Idk what my favorite ending is but that’s my overall fave opening. 

(This is kinda funny considering it’s the opposite for Mha. I have a favorite ending for Mha but don’t know my favorite opening and a favorite opening for Demon slayer but don’t know my fave ending 😅)
