what if the demon realm didn't have storms? no rain, no lightning, and the closest thing they ever got to thunder was a pissed off Gwi-ma
so imagine the first time the kids experience a storm they Freak Out thinking Gwi-ma had found them was gonna eat them

Okay, quick thing, I’m actually trying to write a fic where depressed!Celine winds up with water demon!Rumi, gumiho!Mira and bulgae!Zoey (each one through different circumstances mirroring both the recent water demon!Rumi post I made and the asks for this anon) and the girls presence all works to help Celine. Anyways, onto actually responding to this ask, I agree that I don’t think there would be any thunder or lighting in the demon realm. It doesn’t seem like it has much in the way of weather at all so that could be totally possible. (Assuming you’re referring to the Polylight kid!demontrix here) I can totally see the girls first thunderstorm involving them running into Celine, Miyeong and Eun Ji’s room because they’re absolutely terrified.
I firmly believe that in this AU the girls would share one room as it helps to keep them calm, so when they wake up and see lightning from outside and a powerful wind hitting their windows, it can only mean that Gwi Ma is back and coming for all of them and, being in the same room, they all agree that their only chance of survival is to go to the hunters. Celine, Miyeong and Eun Ji are not overly thrilled about being woken up at 2 am because the kids are scared of storms.
That being said, I do think that they would take them outside and they’d show them the rain, show them that it’s just weather and it doesn’t mean Gwi Ma is coming back. And I totally believe Miyeong would do that parent thing like,
“And if he did come back, he’d have to go through us to get to you three.”
