@golftangohotel posted a Thomas Paine quote today about honesty and fear of offending. In contrast, the usually reliable Seth Godin fumbled about “truth” this morning.

‘cause sometimes the truth sucks. Seth served up warm thoughts that if you aren’t hired “you” weren’t rejected, it was your resume.

Huh? Try cashing that bullshit down at the bank. How does that help you write a better resume or a more persuasive cover letter?

Dating is similar. I’m old, sometimes overweight, and always ugly. So when I ask an attractive young woman out and she declines, she’s not saying “I am just too busy otherwise I’d love to”, she’s saying “no, I don’t find you sufficiently attractive to date”. Which I understand. So I ask someone else out. A duh. This should be basic stuff.
