The middle two panels, you can probably guess, are from the play itself, just before and just after the Macavity fight, because that’s such a sweet scene and I had to include it in the “falling in love” montage. x3 I feel that moment in the play, the tender nuzzle in the yard’s single light, was the moment the two of them realized their feelings fully.
