The erasure of people, identities, languages, customs, histories, and religions is a despicable act and you will be held accountable for the pain and hurt you have caused on the day when you are judged.
Mankind was not created so that we could cause each other such pain, such indescribable pain to the point where we would rather He had not gone through the trouble to create us at all.
One who is patient in facing his pain has the strength of mountains. But we are not all mountains. Many of us crumble easily and return to below, we who are of the earth and the soil and the desert suns. We who struggle to live our identities, to say yes, yes, yes, we are here and we have always been here and we will always be here whether you want us here or not- we struggle to form those foreign tongues our mothers spoke with ease, we struggle to keep our customs and our histories and our faith alive so that those who come after us can see that we have tried. For our sake, and for theirs. We have tried.
And those who hurt you, deny you- while they erase our names from history and write over us in pen, they are like the ink when, once wet, runs and bleeds and vanishes. But we, who come from the earth, true, we crumble and we fall, but we rebuild. We will always rebuild, as we always have.Â
