❝  ETHICALLY?  pfffhahaHAHA!  ❞  he  tilts  his  head  back  and  laughs.  loud  —  extra  loud  and  extra  grating.  oh,  it's  a  funny  enough  argument  to  make  in  its  own  right.  (  a-seriously.  bringing  ethics  into  any  matter  where  maestro  is  concerned  is  a  punchline  unto  itself.  )  but  coming  from  FOUNTAIN?  that  might  very  well  be  the  funniest  thing  he's  heard  all  week  —  and  that's  no  easy  feat,  considering  the  beast  has  to  listen  to  his  own  jokes  and  he's  objectively  hilarious.

❝  fountie,  fountie,  fountie!  ❞  maestro  drifts  up  to  float  at  eye  level.  he  reaches  out,  squishing  the  virtue's  face  between  his  hands.  personal  space?  never  met  'er!  ❝  haven't  you  realized?  ethics  and  morality  are  just  sweet  little  lies  cookies  tell  themselves  to  feel  a  cheap  rush  of  superiority.  they  don't  ACTUALLY  exist.  ❞  squishes  their cheeks  even  harder.  ❝  think  about  it.  knowledge  as  a  concept  is  inherently  DEVOID  of  any  mor-al-ity  whatsoever!  it  simply  is.  you  should  know  that  better  than  anyone.  'tis  cookies  who  apply  the  intention  —  who  turn  the  humble  fire  into  an  act  of  premeditated  arson!  ❞   the  beast  abruptly  lets  go,  flitting  away  gracefully  like  a  feather  on  the  breeze.  he  floats  with  his  back  to  fountain,  arms  folded  neatly  behind  him  —  for  dramatic  effect,  obviously.  what  is  he  if  not  performing?

Kohaku woke up to find out that he wasn’t in his own world anymore and everything looked bigger than him, was he shrunken down?!

His eyes darted around as everything looked like food or something, he sweat dropped a little before seeing the menacing spire just up ahead of where he had woken up.

He dusted off his clothes before keeping his kusarigama close for protection, the jewel shard embedded in his lower back glowing slightly as his nervousness sets in.

Bare feet tread carefully the closer he got to the spire, noticing the scenery changing to a more fantastical setting with jack-in-the-boxes, stars and sheep?

He couldn’t tell as he continued forth, keeping a careful cautious eye out for anything or anyone who may try to ambush him.

❝ ooh, wanna go watch PAINT dry? ❞ spoken with genuine excitement.

unfortunately  for  his  doppelganger,  the  beast's  intrusive  thoughts  are  working  overtime  at  the  moment and he simply can't bring himself to deny them.  oh,  he  could  approach  him  with  the  proposition  he  has  in  mind  —  but  that  would  be  BORING,  and  maestro  abhors  the  idea  of  being  perceived  as  such.  (  why,  he  can  hardly  bring  himself  to  enter  a  room  the  same  way  twice!  )  so  instead,  the  beast  sinks  fluidly  into  one  of  the  spire's  many,  many,  many  shadows.  he  moves  soundlessly  around  the  room,  drifting  across  the  floor,  over  the  walls,  up  the  stairs.  he  slips  into  the  very  shadow  his  doppelganger  casts,  waiting  patiently  for  the  moment  lazurite  is  well  and  truly  distracted  by...  whatever  it  is  they  do.  bird  things?  puppet  things?  yeah,  that.

silently,  as  if  surfacing  from  a  pool  of  still  water,  a  hand  emerges  from  lazurite's  shadow.  he  wiggles  his  fingers  —  then,  attempts  to  sneakily  pluck  a  feather. just to see if he can!
