With these soft baked cookies, indulge in the delectable combination of maraschino cherries and chocolate chips. They're ideal for satisfying a sweet tooth!
Ingredients: 1 cup butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 cup brown sugar, packed. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips. 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped. 1/2 cup chopped nuts optional.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 375F 190C. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix well. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips, chopped maraschino cherries, and chopped nuts if using. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers still look slightly undercooked. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely. Once cooled, enjoy these soft, chewy, maraschino cherry chocolate chip cookies!
