just deleted an instagram account i've had for 9 years
as much as it would pull me in every time i logged on and i was filled with a potential sense of fomo from the idea of deleting the account, it was totally antithetical to my goals. tumblr is also far from perfect and so is youtube (especially youtube) but they both bring very different things to the table. there's nothing like that feeling of this time being the last time; you decide in an instant that the person you are is someone very slightly different. "i don't have an instagram" goes crazy. i also don't have a twitter or a snapchat or a facebook or any ai accounts. i don't need them. with each one i delete i gain more control over my life. feels great
