MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD

Of what? I generally prefer night, if that’s you mean. There are fewer people around to irritate me.

i admire but do not seek to emulate those people who,

when the relationship is over

and their heart is breaking as their lover walks away

sit and listen to sad songs

and replay every word and thought and conversation

seeking a deeper meaning

who masochistically indulge in a marathon of

movies that end in sunset shots of couples walking off hand in hand

  when you speak to them of their loss

they repeat with perfect sincerity their heartfelt sentiments

they wish him well

and all they want is for their love to find happiness

even if it means he ends up with another

  conviction rings through each word

as they hold back the tears and throw back the liquor

  as for myself

my heartfelt sentiments are rather more dire

  i do not sit and weep or quietly sorrow for my loss

but rage and stomp about in a hurricane of destruction

wreaking my wrath on the inanimate reminiscences left in my radius

fantasizing about doom and destruction and relationship disasters

about infectious diseases of the socially unacceptable kind,

large scale hair loss and perhaps some festering boils

  i am uncertain as to which path indicates a more elevated individual

or which road is the better not taken

i only know that i cannot stomach or swallow even once more

the patently false sentiments or sickening smiles or facile regret
