I wrote this chorus almost 15 years ago back when The Tyra Banks show was still airing. There was an episode when Tyra casually makes a joke about hypothetically driving someone “into” a mountain. I don’t remember the context of that conversation or interview, but I thought the idea of driving someone “into” a mountain was so hilarious that I made a silly hook about it, and the song was a “hit” by my super star alter ego, Tasha Doll. To this day, it is one of her biggest hits alongside power ballad “I Wish My Ass Was Her Vagina” and crossover gospel smash “My Biggest Church Hat.” Fast forward to 2020, I’m smoking a blunt, high as fuck listening to this beat by Def Starz, and this chorus flies out of my mouth. And with the subtle yet drastic change from “into” a mountain to “off of” a mountain, what started out as a silly inside joke became a sad and catchy song about falling short of the expectations of others.
