​It’s an Admission of Intent: Normal people don't look at a pet and immediately fantasize about the logistics of killing it.

​It’s the Death of Empathy: To use the life of a loyal companion as a "gotcha" in a conversation is a level of depravity that is hard to wrap your head around.

​The Disgusting "Logic" of the Weak

​There is something deeply pathetic about a man who feels so threatened by a dog’s loyalty that he has to remind you he has a weapon. It’s the ultimate "small man" energy. He knows he can’t win your respect, he knows he can’t earn your attention, so he settles for trying to harvest your fear.

​When he says "he’s not bulletproof," what he’s really saying is: “I am so desperate to feel powerful that I am willing to destroy something beautiful and loyal just to make you feel small.”

​The irony is that these men think they sound "hard" or "dangerous." In reality, they sound broken. They sound like someone who has failed so miserably at being a decent human being that their only remaining personality trait is the ability to cause harm.

​To the men who use these lines: You aren't "alpha." You aren't a "warrior." You are a walking red flag. Your willingness to threaten a dog doesn't make us fear you—it makes us look at you with the same level of disgust we’d have for a stain on the sidewalk.

My Dog Has More Humanity
