Me and Tattoos
I've wanted to get a tattoo since I was younger, but have always been told that I wouldn't be able to because I'm so small and meek and that "it'll hurt" and that i'll "regret it later".... when ive been wanting something for a majority of my life and had very specific reasons behind it, I doubt I'll regret it later on. I've known what I've wanted for a long time.
The first tattoo I want, which I want to get in the next year or so, is a flock of crows and/or a feather, or a single crow, or a crow and a feather... either way. crows, feathers, crows flying. I've always felt connected to crows and I seem to see the beauty in them where other people don't. They're generally shunned by society and, to a degree, I know how that feels.Â
The second one which I'm still not sure whether I will actually get or not depending on how the first one goes, is a dragon. I still havent made up my mind where or what kind of design but I know i want a dragon. A european one.Â
Third one depends on the dragon one really, i want wings. preferably big ones.Â
Why my obsession with flight and wings? Well from when I was very young I've constantly had the desire to 'fly away' to a better place, find my own way but I constantly feel trapped like a bird in a cage. I feel that getting a tattoo represents me 'finding my wings' and transitioning into adulthood and independence, something that I have a lot of trouble with.
So yeah, I know that tattoos hurt, I know that it's something I'll have for a very long time and I know I'll be shunned by many people for my decision in getting one. But it's something I've always wanted and something that's close to my heart.
