this may seem like a hot take but if you dont push your queerphobia onto me then i really couldn't care less about who you are.
i have two slightly homophobic friends who i love dearly, and i will continue to love them dearly even if we have different opinions. i understand that their opinions may be internalized because of their upbringing and how different our cultures are, and thats okay.
i love these two friends because although they may not be fond of lgbt people, thats not their entire personality and they dont make it their entire personality. i dont make my gender or sexuality my entire personality either.
you know when you have an opinion and you think you are completely, 100% right? it may be difficult to realize that the opposing team thinks about their opinion, which differs from your own, in the exact same way. all that does is become a cause for unnecessary conflict.
thats why it's important to stay open minded
i accept my friends even when they may not accept me because i love them for their other opinions and the ways they make me happy. i dont wish to force my opinion on them, so i know they will do the same for me.
and thats hard to realize sometimes
