outofbullets. Oh my goodness that is a large can of worms, actually. 

Lydia’s growth as a character is soooo much more than just that one quote. It’s so much more than the guy’s she’s dated or how her tastes have changed. It’s the fact that she herself is maturing. 

Despite how book-smart Lydia is she was never really completely mature.

Instead of keeping secrets from people or hiding the supernatural, she’s being honest and upfront with them. Instead of looking for a distraction, she’s looking for/after people who need help.Instead of being painfully blunt or impatient (as we saw with Meredith last season), she’s being patient and kind with people (Sydney and Tracy). 

She wants to help people because she’s been there and she knows it sucks -- especially when everyone kept her in the dark all that time (hell, I’m not even sure she was 100% filled in at the beginning of S3A).

The fact that people say the point where she started getting better as a person was when Stiles confronting her in Season 1 during the dance is, well... ‘eh’ to me because that’s not the point where she started growing as a person. She didn’t so much as bat an eyelash. Sure, it earned him a dance, but did Lydia’s demeanor really change in S2 after that scene? 

Not really.

Maybe a bit towards the end of Season 2, but I think she really started to grow in S3A. 

Allison and Scott were monumental in her growth as well. These are/were two people who legitimately care about her (along with Stiles, of course, but his care was initially admiration whereas Allison absolutely loved and adored her from the get-go and Scott began developed care for her as a friend). 

She’s never really had that before them.

Her development by far is one of the best in the series, tbh.

Now, since this topic is being beaten like a dead horse, let me just clarify something.

JORDAN AND LYDIA’S AGES:

(because good god people do not shut up about this)

Jordan specifically tells Jared (the boy with the bomb in his lap) that he’s twenty-four in Season 3b, episode 19, titled ‘Letharia Vulpina.’ Since season 5 takes place somewhere around 6 months after Season 4, it can be assumed that he is either twenty-four or twenty-five at that point. Teen Wolf timelines are fairly wonky, but they made it a point to state his age -- as well as Lydia’s.

Lydia’s mother (Natalie) specifically said Lydia’s eighteenth birthday was ‘coming up soon’ in season 4, episode 8, titled ‘Time of Death.’

outofbullets. I am just--- first of all, he has no fucking control what he’s dreaming about (or having a nightmare about, even). Second of all, the point is that he’s AFRAID of hurting her (and quite possibly getting CLOSE to her because he might hurt her even MORE). 

And people in general have all sorts of crazy ass dreams. Oh my god, so like because I dream that the driver in the car is incapacitated and I’m forced to drive does that mean I WANT that to happen???

Good lord. At what fucking point has Jordan EVER implied that THAT is the way he wants their relationship to progress? Are we even watching the same fucking show?

That means a lot, anon -- it really does! Especially knowing that you didn't much care for it before. Kelli is definitely responsible for making me like it, but then again we're also both fairly neutral towards Yuuram and not foaming over the mouth over it so it's not too overboard, I guess.

As for that second part... oh boy -- here comes the rant. (I'll readmore it for the sake of people's dashes.)

ooc; Unfortunately tumblr is very prone to hypocrisy, in and out of the RP community here.

There may be some who boast that they do not send hate and even put up little ‘anti-hate pledge’ banners on their blog, but you’re never really sure that they don’t send hate. A pretty banner with ‘anti-hate’ isn’t exactly the key indicator that a person will not send hate and I’ve a few friends who can attest to that.

For all the heartache it causes, I feel like those blatant ‘call out’ posts are received and handled much better than anonymous hate. The two parties are able to bicker and complain as they may among themselves and eventually it’s either a) sorted out, or b) unsorted and the two just give up after a while.

Good golly, though — just shoot the darn person a message off anon and tell them your gripe instead of being a little bitch OR… OR… try and resolve it diplomatically if you can. A lot of hate can stem from misunderstandings.

Someone unfollowed you, someone said something they didn’t mean because they were upset that day, someone missed your roleplay post and wound up replying to everyone but you… — I don’t understand how someone could ever fathom sending a hateful message.

Like what exactly is going through their minds?

And if seeing their URL legitimately bothers you THAT much just block them, tumblr savior them, or whatever? But honestly if you have to block a URL then perhaps you need to work on thickening that skin of yours because there are worse things than a set or words that make up a person's URL.

Either way, sending them hate DOES!!!! NOT!!!! ACCOMPLISH JACK SHIT!!!!

ESPECIALLY if you have friends who interact with them! You make them uncomfortable and awkward and upset when you beat up on their friend and just because you don't have a good relationship with them doesn't mean you have to taint your friend's relationship with them as well.
