Haha, oh man, that’s a tough one for me, I haven’t properly dated anyone, ever (or even been on a date)! And high school was the last time I came close to whatever you might call dating.
Uhm… well I guess it was this one guy I knew back in high school? We were friends, and really close friends, and sometimes it got a lot more confusing than just “really close friends”. I did the whole, “admit I have feelings for you” dance at one point, and it didn’t really go anywhere, but we still had like, this bizarre is-it-even-platonic thing going every now and again. I remember he would always go out of his way to tell me I looked pretty, or that my haircut looked nice, or just something positive (since it was really no secret that I had some serious self-image issues).
The thing I’ll always remember was this one night we were running around this town at like, 3 in the morning playing in people’s backyard sprinklers and joking around and we ran down to the beach and held hands and watched the bioluminescent algea glow and flicker blue in the water until it was almost sunrise and we went back to where we were staying and cuddled up in a hammock.
God that sounds so weird and cheesy and I hope he never sees this ‘cause it’s kind of embarrassing, but yeah…I’m pretty sure he counts. Even if it was just confused teenage platonic love.
My mother and I have developed a strange relationship with the Furby my friends gave me.
